I have been debating blog topics for the past couple of days, but honestly, it's impossible to focus on anything other than the Presidential election. To be witnessing history is truly an amazing feeling. Not to mention the enormous sense of relief that the longest election cycle ever has finally ended. Now, as we look forward, you may be saying, as I did today when booking an appointment, "Holy cow! Thanksgiving is only three weeks away. Where did the time go?" The past couple of weeks have been full of so much uncertainty that it's been impossible to see beyond the day-to-day. And while all is not resolved overnight, we must still allow ourselves to step back, take a deep breath, and find time to enjoy this season we are about to enter.
As you start filling up your holiday calendar with social events and family commitments, I encourage you to take the time to do something for yourself. At the salon, our book fills up quickly with color appointments just before the holidays, as everyone wants to cover that gray and look their best before seeing the family. But it's just as important to feel your best, too. An easy way to do this is with a scalp treatment or conditioning treatment. What could possibly top laying in the shampoo chair with the massage on, while receiving a scalp massage, then having your hair blow-dried to a silky, soft, shiny finish? I recently did this myself for the first time in a long time, and I haven't been that relaxed since I don't know when. And my hair looked and felt great.
Whether it's to calm yourself before a big event, or to unwind after one, take the time to do something for yourself. After all, making history is a big deal. We all deserve a little pampering.
