We are the Champions

I'm so excited to learn that Self magazine has named Bethesda as the healthiest city for women in its annual survey. While I know that healthy hair was not a contributing factor, you cannot deny the connection between a healthy body and healthy hair.

Speaking of healthy hair, the December issue of W magazine (Blake Lively on the cover - love that Gossip Girl! xoxo) has a great article on how the latest breakthroughs in science are focused on maintaining healthy hair. I was so happy to see a product I mentioned in my last entry - Rene Furterer Myrrhea Mask - noted in the article for its anti-frizz properties. The article also discusses the importance of scalp treatments in making hair stronger. I can tell you that some of my favorite moments at the salon have been when clients who had been dealing with hair loss or damage come in after a few scalp treatments and tell me how happy they are with the results. Of course, you don't need to wait until you have an issue to try a treatment. It's a great boost when your hair starts to feel blah from the winter weather.

Being named healthiest city is a big honor, and also a big responsibility. We bumped San Francisco from its top spot, and I'm sure they'll be working to get back to number one next year. But rest assured, Bethesda, that Salon A will do everything we can to keep your hair healthy.
