Finally, the news we have all been waiting for - messy, frizzy hair is in!! Okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a bit, but flip through any fashion magazine this month, and you will find most models wearing hairstyles that are decidedly unpolished and frequently not smooth. In other words, see you later, flat iron! The June issue of Vogue (Cameron Diaz on the cover, a perfect example of casual cool) features an article about the comeback of the messy mane. I guess it shouldn't come as a total surprise. Last year at this time, the style was all about prim, proper, and polished. This season, we may still be wearing the same clothes as last year (recessionista, frugalista, etc), but a more relaxed hairstyle makes the look fresh and modern. It's so effortless, how can we not be excited?
Speaking of effortless, a new product line from Privé is making it easier than ever to be environmentally responsible and have fabulous hair. Concept Vert features a shampoo and conditioner that is sulfate and paraben free, plus contains no phthalates, gluten, PABA, mineral oil, paraffin, DEA, TEA, or artificial colors. I admit that I don't even know what half of these things are, but I do know that I have tried these products and love them. What it does contain is Açaí Berry, an antioxidant that protects and strengthens the hair, and Babassu Oil, a gentle moisturizing ingredient for both dry and oily scalps. Plus, the containers are recyclable and reusable. We just got the testers in the salon last week, and will have the products available to sell later this week. Easy styles and easy products that go easy on the planet should make for a summertime where the living is.....well, easy.
