Are You Ready?

We've reached that time of the year when people stop counting forward to schedule their appointments, and start counting backward, e.g., "Let's count back from Christmas to time my colors correctly". I was caught a bit off guard when I began getting these requests this past weekend. With mild temperatures and great hair days now that the humidity has passed, I've been a bit oblivious to the fact that we are actually in the fall season. Not even the allure of patterned tights and cashmere sweaters have managed to distract me from admiring open-toed shoes while sipping my iced lattes.

But fall is here, and Thanksgiving is less than two color appointments away. Before things get hectic, like we know they will, it's a great time to plan for your holiday hair. If you're still in transition from your summer color, now is the perfect opportunity to try that darker shade, or some lowlighting. This way, you have time to decide if it's the look you want to present at the family gatherings, with all those cameras, or if it needs some more tweaking.

If you've changed your styling routine this fall - so long, airdried, carefree locks; hello, blow-dryer and flat iron - be sure that you have the right tools. Are you using thermal protective protects before applying all that heat to your hair? Have you done deep conditioning treatments to rehydrate your hair from any sun damage?

This is a great time of year for hair. Between the summer heat and humidity, and the cold, dry winter air creating a static mess of our mane, we have this moderate, perfect period of good hair days. But as with anything, prevention is key. By taking the time now to prepare your hair for the coming months, you can avoid those last-minute hair emergencies. Giving you more time to focus on your shoe shopping.
