Winter Blues

Here we are mid-winter.  This is the only time of year when I wish the days would pass quickly, each new day bringing us a little closer to spring.  When I find myself excited by extra minutes of daylight, temperatures above forty degrees, and only a few inches of snowfall rather than another snowmaggedon, I've clearly resigned myself to the winter doldrums.  It's a common experience, as we ride out the next couple of months, bundled under scarves and hats, until spring fever grabs hold and we once again can get excited about our clothes and hair.

And while you may not yet be interested in your new spring look, this is actually the perfect time of year to take care of the health of your hair and skin.  The winter weather - and indoor heat - dries out our hair and skin, leaving us all in need of some major hydration and moisturizing.  Scalp and conditioning treatments, plus facials and body treatments, don't just feel nice, but also help maintain healthy hair and skin.  And if you'd rather hibernate than come out for regular treatments, there are great products from Rene Furterer and Suki that you can use at home.

Soon enough, spring will arrive and you'll be ready for your new color and cut.  But don't waste your spring repairing winter damage.  Take care of your hair and skin now, so that when the hats and scarves finally come off, you'll already have that spring break glow.
