Introducing.....

I have a confession to make.  I write about change and trying new things a lot, yet I'm often slow to take my own advice.  It takes me five minutes to get into a pool because I am literally testing the waters.  It took me three haircuts to go from long to short because I was reluctant to just chop it off.  And yet now I love my short hair and wonder why I waited so long to cut it.  But every so often, I am prompted to just dive right in.  When I logged in to write this blog entry, I found a number of new format options awaiting me.  Perhaps still in the spirit of the new year, I decided to just do it, and made a change.  I know it's just a blog, but it did give me a little thrill to delete the old format and start fresh.

Speaking of thrills and new things, we at Salon A are excited to welcome our new stylist Kristin Sherid.  Kristin began doing hair while in college, and has been working for the past 12 years in Harford County, MD.  She recently moved to DC and we are pleased to have her on our team.  She has a passion for color, and loves to keep looks updated and fresh by developing her skills through training classes and shows. Kristin is a certified colorist, is certified in design, and is a Redken Master Specialist.  She has trained with Chris Baran and Sam Villa on cutting techniques, and has taken classes with color specialists Roy Peters and Dhaniel Doud.

A new stylist and new blog design.  Hopefully it's a sign of many more positive changes to come at Salon A in 2012.  I already know that some new product launches from both Rene Furterer and Prive are coming soon.  Sometimes change comes from inspiration, sometimes it comes as a surprise, but the most important thing is that change comes.  Could someone please remind me of this the next time I'm due for a haircut?
