This month, we were fortunate to have Chuck Hezekiah, the Rene Furterer educator, visit from New York and perform complimentary scalp analyses and treatments on our clients. You may have read about or heard me mention how awesome scalp treatments are, but if you're still unclear about what a scalp treatment is, or why it's so great for your hair, let me show you exactly what Chuck did:Scalp treatments can work on any hair type, as they can be customized to address whatever issue you may be experiencing. In our model's case, she had chemically processed hair that was feeling dry and lifeless.

The first step was the application of Complexe 5, a blend of essential oils of orange and lavender. This was worked though the scalp with stimulating massage techniques, to deeply cleanse and tone the scalp, and strengthen the roots.

The hair was then shampooed with Carthame Moisturizing Milk Shampoo, which is made with safflower oil, also rich in essential fatty acids. This was followed by the Fioravanti Shine Enhancing Conditioner and Clarify & Shine Rinse. The Fioravanti line contains cherry vinegar made with Chilean Acerola cherries, which removes build-up and leaves the hair shiny.

Before the blow-dry, Astera Leave-In Soothing Freshness Serum was applied to the scalp. This contains echinacea extract, which soothes and protects the scalp.

Scalp treatments are a great way to maintain a healthy scalp and hair, as the combination of essential oils and stimulating massage can literally get to the root of your hair problems. So, if your hair is feeling kind of blah, as can happen during changes of season, consider a scalp treatment before deciding on more drastic measures, like a big cut, color, or wearing a scrunchie.
And be sure to check out our Facebook page, so that the next time Chuck is in town you can sign up to get pampered like our model did - for free!
